Winter and its glorious snowy, windy, wet weather brings its share of special challenges to all Utahns. Volunteer organizations, too, may have additional needs in the cold months. If you’re looking for opportunities to serve your community in the coming months, there are many people and places that could benefit from your help.
Organizations that serve the homeless, of course, have especially challenging needs in the colder months. The need is ever present for money to support shelters, food banks and other programs that provide necessities.
But in addition to monetary donations, your service can do a lot of good to a lot of people. Senior citizens or individuals with limitations that prevent them from getting out and about easily may need help with day-to-day needs in winter more so than in warmer months for jobs like clearing snow, shopping for groceries, running errands and getting to and from appointments.
If you have time and passion to dedicate over the coming months, find volunteer opportunities in your area. Get out there and make a difference!
